Susana Lau

Susana Lau is an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer with a Master’s in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University, achieved through a Fulbright-Senacyt scholarship. She has over ten years of experience managing IT projects for Panamanian companies and a Silicon Valley startup. In 2015, Susana founded EtyaLab, a tech company that has executed more than 60 projects for over 40 clients, specializing in custom web and mobile solutions.

Recognized as a Forbes-listed Powerful Woman in Central America and the Dominican Republic in 2020, 2021, and 2023, Susana is an advocate for women’s empowerment in technology. She chairs the IEEE Panama Section  and collaborates with Panama’s DMO to promote the country as a conference destination. Susana actively volunteers with the Women in Engineering affinity group at local, regional, and global levels. She also leads IEEE Entrepreneurship for Region 9.

In 2021, she co-founded the CREEA Foundation, a non-profit focused on educational and entrepreneurial community projects. Susana also serves on the boards of a bank and an insurance company, contributing to technology, audit, risk, and ethics committees.
