Punahele Andrade

Punahele Andrade was born on the Island Of Hawai’i and was raised in Puako and Honoka’a, Hawai’i. As a young child he was interested in all things Hawaiian. He studied traditional Hula Kahiko and Hula ‘Auana for over twenty years with the late, Kumu Hula Uncle George Naʻope and Nani Lim-Yap.  He is a Kumu hula, composer and entertainer. He has taught the hula in a traditional school of his own for nearly 30 years in Hawaii. Punahele has studied  the Hawaiian language, poetry, art, flora and fauna and Hawaiian music at the University Of Hawaii at Hilo and Hawaiʻi Community College. He has a great sense of place and respect for the lands, sea and the cultures of Hawaiʻi. Punahele  shares and teaches Hawaiiʻs Hula  history, flora and fauna with visitors and other students of the Hula from all over the world. He believes that the greatest thing in life is the spirit of aloha.
