Michael Crimp

As CEO of IBC  Michael has successfully grown the event from a broadcasting convention to the leading international event for media and entertainment technology. The success of IBC can be measured through growing attendance, record financial performance plus record levels of positive international media coverage, and stakeholder reviews.

This has been achieved by introducing new areas of electronic media technology in a high quality environment.

Current areas of innovation include AI, cloud, cyber security and 5G. To achieve this success, IBC has identified growth areas early, understood the business models and delivered an international audience of buyers. The technology market represented at IBC is worth $10B per year.

The CEO’s role is to lead the organisation by researching, facilitating and implementing a sustainable growth strategy. As CEO works closely with the Chairman and Board  on all strategy, governance, audit and remcomm issues.

Michael was born and bred in South London. He is a sports fan who is a keen Chelsea supporter.

He began his career in publishing and holds an MBA.
